Thomas Mize was the orphaned son of Jeremiah Mize, Jr. who was born in 1746 in Lunenburg (formerly Brunswick) Co., VA. Jeremiah, a Revolutionary War soldier, died in Union Co., SC abt 1809-1813; Thomas was a merchant, real estate investor, postmaster & J.P. in Franklin Co., GA; see the article about him which appeared in the Atlanta Constitution newspaper.
